JALON & ORBA VALLEY
The inland region of the North Costa Blanca offers a wealth of stunning landscapes with the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the coast. Over the last 5 years these 2 valley areas have seen a big rise in popularity due in the main to the stunning scenery and lower prices than those closer to the coast. This inland area is dominated by the two main towns of Jalon and Orba, but in addition one can find many smaller villages to explore and check out the local wine and cuisine. There is an amazing choice of restaurants in the area catering for all tastes, but a trip here wouldn’t be right without sampling some of the traditional paella dishes.
The local agriculture includes citrus fruits, almonds, grapes and olives. Living inland gives you more space for less cost and an opportunity to live within a traditional Spanish rural community, yet within easy reach of the coastline.
Types of property available in this area are wide and varied and include apartments, traditional townhouses, bungalows with communal facilities, detached villas and rural fincas set on large plots with vineyards and orchards.

A popular time for tourists to visit is during mid to late February as the almond trees explode into blossom. A spectacular sight as the valley becomes awash with various shades of pink and white.
Infrastructure
Many of the surrounding villages have very good state schools, and even those clients looking for a GCSE education are catered for by the nearby Lady Elizabeth School. Modern clinics are again found in most villages and the main hospital in Denia is 25 minutes drive away. Hobbies and activities are in good supply and include hill walking, mountain biking, tennis, horse riding and golf.
Getting there
The valley areas are located approximately 1 hours drive from either Alicante or Valencia airport and are easily accessible from the main A7 motorway link. The nearest beaches are those of Javea, Moraire, Calpe and Denia which are around 30 mins by car.
